The Faculty of Land and Food Systems introduced a “random acts of recognition” program last year. How it works: faculty, staff and graduate students nominate a colleague who has been doing an outstanding job or has gone above and beyond in some way by emailing our central recognition email box and telling us why their colleague should be recognized. We send the nominated person a $5 Starbucks gift card and acknowledge their good work in LFS Today, our daily e-newsletter that goes to faculty, staff, and graduate students.
The results so far: we received 52 staff, faculty, and graduate student nominations from September to December 2015. Examples of things people were recognized for: going above and beyond for graduate students; taking on difficult tasks; and enthusiasm and leadership.
Got a recognition idea or experience to share? Submit it for a chance to win a Starbucks card.
