When researcher Kirsten Marchand (School of Population and Public Health) was developing a study on the effects of patient-centered care in opioid use disorder treatment, she counted on the expertise of librarian Ursula Ellis to structure her review.
“Ursula was extremely helpful to us at the proposal stage, walking us through the mechanics of building a search strategy to demonstrate feasibility. She was instrumental in the refining and framing of our research question and identifying key search terms,” says Kirsten.
Ursula is an expert searcher, organizer and analyzer – a unique set of skills that makes librarians indispensable to research at the university. Through this work, faculty are supported by more integrated and innovative resources, which help them grow their careers as aimed by Catalyst #2 of the Focus on People 2025 framework.
